A number of important and exciting changes are being made to our Key Stage 1 and Early Years Provision.

 

The school has invited Morgan’s Vale and Woodfalls Pre School to form a Partnership Foundation Stage Unit with us and they have accepted. Reception children entering the school in September will be with Mrs Jaffray as usual, but will be joined in the mornings by the three and four year old children from Pre school. Reception children are in a different Key Stage to Year 1 pupils and this reorganisation will mean that Foundation Stage 1 children (3 and 4 year olds) will be taught in a specialist Foundation Stage Unit with the Foundation Stage 2 children (Reception) which will be of huge benefit for all children. Mrs Jaffray will be supported by a member of Pre School staff so there will always be two adults in the unit and we are anticipating there will be initially 15 children in this class in September.

Early Years provision for two and three year olds will continue at the current Pre School building on three mornings a week. The building is undergoing a dramatic transformation to make it an even more creative and happy environment in which the children can play and socialise.
